Up to Speed

As most of you noticed, I took a break from blogging for awhile. I started this blog to document my pregnancy with Blakely and then continue on so I could make a blog book for her and have an electronic baby book if you will. When I would write each blog I would try to remember that I was going to have this printed for Blakely so things seemed nice and rosey from the outside world perhaps. I thought some things were better left unsaid. In about November I started really struggling with my blog and making things continue to appear a certain way, when in reality they werent.... so I just stopped blogging.

It's a new year now and I thought I would do this blog the right way.

To bring everyone up to speed on our real life.... Milo (Blakely's father) and I split when Blakely was 4 months old. Something I did not announce to the blogging world, although most my close friends and family knew about this. Milo and I continued to co-parent and take Blakely on outings as a family etc. In November the day finally happened when I was confronted with the news that Milo had a girlfriend and had moved on. This took some adjusting too. Somewhere in the back of my mind I thought that our family would weather the storm we were going through and things would get back to normal. This wasnt the plan God had in store for me though. After a rough couple of months I think it's safe to say I have now come to terms with the cards I have been dealt and feel a peace about the situation. Milo and I are continually trying to be better parents and figure this whole co-parenting situation out.

Blakely is very loved and has not gone without any extra attention during these hard times for our family. She is so loved by her parents, grandparents, Tia's, uncles, and cousins. My family has rallied behind me and showered us both with love, support, prayers, and monetary gifts that we are so VERY thankful for.

One of my very close friends, Brittany, is also going through a situation similar to mine. She has been such a source of comfort and a vessle through which I have been continually fed scripture and encouragement. Thank you, Brittany!

Now that I have all of that off my chest, I hope to bring all of you up to speed on what Blakely has been up too in my next few posts. Little Miss turns 1 on Friday! I decided to postpone her 1st birthday until February so that I can save some $$ and have warmer weather to celebrate in. (The extra time to plan also helps!) Until then, here is a picture of the cutie.

I'm sorry to hear about you and Milo, I figured something had happened when I read a comment on your FB a while back and the fact that you weren't blogging much. I know it's got to be pretty tough going through this but you do have an amazing family who supports you and loves you and beautiful Blakely. I pray strength for you and peace. I'm always here even though we haven't seen each other in forever! We should definitely get together sometime soon and let the girls meet each other. Blakely is so cute and I can't believe she is going to be a year old on Friday! Whoa! Happy Birthday Blakely!

Love you, Karen... Hugzzz to you and big kisses to Miss Blakely. She's so so BIG and of course, ADORABLE!

I'm so glad you have family and friends to support you. I think you know how lucky you are to have such good friends and your family close by. Not all have those same blessings.

I know how hard it can be, but you are strong and will stand tall through it all. What a life you and Miss Blakely have ahead of you!

Love you...D
