Beach Part 2

I guess it's about time to put some pictures up of our vacation to the beach. Better late, than never. This might take several blog entries.

Blakely and I had a great time at the beach with my older sister and her family. I didnt want to come back to reality. When you are sitting on a beach in another state, it's easy to forget about everything that is happening back home and in reality. It was a nice escape.

I am happy to report that Blakely fell in love with swimming while we were gone. She has always loved her bathtime, but I have read several blogs where the babies reacted differently in the pool. Blakely would go absolutely crazy when she saw the pool. She would try to lunge out of my arms, ready to jump in. I took a video of her in the water. On this particular day the water was cold! It didnt seem to bother Blakely at all. Her arms and legs go 90mph the entire time she is in the water.

After Blakely would get out of the pool she would fall asleep not even 10 minutes later. She would completely wear herself out. Her favorite napping spot was on Uncle Bucks lap. These pictures were taken two different days.

This night Blakely fell asleep at the dinner table when she was taking her bottle.

Blakely also loved the sand, which meant I had to give her about 3 baths a day. Babies + sand = MESS MESS MESS. Sand would get caked onto her face (from trying to eat it).... it's almost impossible to wipe off with a towel. The only things that would get it off were water or baby powder. Our last night at the beach we went to have pictures made. I should have put Blakely on a blanket while I took pictures of the Brooks' family. Instead I let her play in the sand. BIG MISTAKE. By the time it was her turn for pictures she was an absolute mess and I couldnt get the sand off her face, arms, legs etc. Needless to say, I never got any fancy smancy pictures of her dressed up on the beach.
