Blakely is 9 months old now. It's hard to imagine that in 3 months she will be turning 1! I just cant grasp that yet.
The week before Blakely turned 9 months she started doing an army crawl across the floor. She still wasnt sure how to get on her knees so she just used her arms to drag herself across the floor. The day before she turned 9 months she started to actually crawl on her knees....well... knee. Now she does a tripod crawl. This requires 2 hands, one knee, and one foot. It seems to work for her though. She is now pulling up on things as well. Yesterday she pulled up on the window seal then played at the window for a good 45 minutes.
Here are some other things Blakely is now doing at 9 months....
- She loves puffs, we find them all over the house
- She still loves to play in her excersaucer and watch Veggie Tales
- She says "Up" when she wants to be picked up or put down.
- Other words she says on a daily basis are: Bob, dad, daddy, da-da, hi, hello, yeah, kitty (which sounds more like kittttttttt - she rolls her tongue, it's the hispanic in her. ;) )
- She from time to time will say "gram-pa" and "buck".... Although if you ask anyone in the family we swear we have heard her say 'thank you' 'Adalyn' and "I dont know". She is big at copying ANYTHING we say.... so we have to be careful.
- Anytime the phone rings she stops what she is doing and says "hello" or "yeah". She will look around at us till someone answers. (I think this is from watching her mom work and answer phones all day.) **side story.... Last night she was sound asleep on Nonnie's lap and when the phone rang she sat straight up and said "Yeah". We all thought it was hillarious.
- We are going through a big stranger phase still. It takes her DAYS to warm up to people. I hate this.
- She is wearing size 4 diapers! This is new, so they are still pretty big on her.
- She is eating stage 3 baby food and some table food. anything with a runny texture. I tried banana slices with her and she wasnt a big fan.
- Loves her new alphabet mat that she plays on. She loves to take it apart, much to her grandpa's dismay.
