During the actual meal, which turned out nice by the way, we played a couple of dinner party games. If you ever have a family get together or a dinner party I suggest playing some dinner games. It made the meal so much more fun. It was also a great way to keep everyone involved in conversation. Before the meal I put a random sentence on a piece of paper and put it under each plate on the table. Whichever sentence was under your plate you had to work it into normal conversation at the dinner table without anyone noticing. This ended up being pretty hysterical. Some examples were: my dad had to say "all this meal needs is a big bowl of cherries!" My sister Robin had to say "If I were a movie star I would want to be Julia Roberts." Casey had to say "I prefer reading a newspaper while on the toilet." Scott was "If I were a girl, I would totally date Tony Romo." etc. etc. The other game we played was called 'Mr. Freeze.' Before the meal we all drew a piece of paper from a bowl. Only one piece of paper had an 'F' on it. If you drew the 'F' then at dinner you had to freeze at some point during the meal. Once you noticed the person freeze everyone else had to freeze. The last person to notice and freeze themselves lost. Robin ended up being Mr. Freeze. It was funny watching everyone slowly realize what was going on and freeze themselves.
There is never a dull moment with my family. We all love to joke and laugh. We make every occasion a party with games. This dinner party was no exception! Next month the guys are going to do the cooking. They already drew which course they would be making. I will let you know how that turns out. ;)

This is so neat. I can just imagine Robin freezing out of the blue and trying not to laugh. Ha Ha !! How fun !!
