5 Months

Blakely turned 5 months old this week! I tried to document most of what Blakely did on the day she turned 5 months old. It seems like she gets bigger every second! Blakely is at the top of the charts for height and weight and is a very active baby. Her favorite things to do are play in her excersaucer while watching a Veggie Tale movie, jump in her johnny jump up (she doesnt swing around anymore - she JUMPS!), stand (with help of course), get tickled on her neck, laugh, play airplane with her dad, talk to Nonnie (she will coo so loud when Nonnie talks to her), grab her mom's hair, give kisses, play with her rings, put everything into her mouth, and kick kick kick when she is laying on her back! Blakely has started to say B sounds now. She says "Ba Ba" all day long. My dad thinks she is saying "Abba". We are all on pins and needles waiting for her to spit out that first B letter word. Will it be Ball? Bottle? Baby? Boy? Buck? (That one's for you Uncle Buck), Brian? (again, that ones for you Uncle Buck), Blakely??? The joke in our house is that her first word will be Bob (the name of my ex). How awkward would that be. lol.
Blakely now eats cereal, applesauce, & bananas! She finally started opening wide when I'm feeding her. I was having to pry her mouth open before. She really loves her bananas so far! We are going to try sweet potatoes next, since my mom said that was all of our favorites when we were babies. I also noticed Brylee, Tanna's daughter, loves that the most so far too. I read the best way to keep their nutrients etc is to bake them (not boil) then puree them... so we will do that this weekend.
Blakely now gets swaddled with her arms out. She can break free from the swaddle so I started doing it this way just to keep her legs warm and semi confined. Otherwise she would spend all night holding her feet in the air and would get no sleep. She loves to have her legs in the air when she is laying on her back. The other day she took almost her entire bottle with one leg straight up in the air.

After a bath and diaper change, Milo, Robin, and I all went to Ikea with Blakely since I had to drive to Mckinney for a work related errand. We thought we would take advantage of being next to Ikea and made it a shopping trip!

So happy to be shopping! Nothing like her mom!

OOPS. This is what happens when you put all of your attention on checking out. As we were headed for the door I looked down and saw this...

5 month supper at Taco Bell in Frisco.

Busy day for a 5 month old. Needless to say, she slept all night! :)
